PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles High School bowling team Tuesday traveled to All Star Lanes in Bremerton and was narrowly defeated by Olympic High School.
For the second consecutive match, the Roughriders split their games with the Trojans. Olympic came out on top with a higher final pin count.
Abby Robinson had a team high single game of 143 and led the team with a solid two-game score of 264, while Violet Mills recorded a 218. Kenadie Ring bested her previous score by 61 pins from the previous competition. The Riders’ next match is Monday when they host Klahowya.
Jumping Mouse trot
PORT TOWNSEND — This past weekend, more than 200 participants competed in the Jumping Mouse annual 5K turkey trot.
With Port Townsend City Manager John Mauro at the front of pack, runners began their trot along the Larry Scott Trail. East Jefferson distance runner Sebastian Manza came in first with a time of 17 minutes, 46 seconds.
The event, sponsored by Kitsap Bank, raised more than $11,000 for Jumping Mouse Children’s Center in Port Townsend.
The top 10 runners were: Manza, first, 17:46; Mauro, second, 18:20; Camille Shiflett, third, 19:02; Noah Isenberg, fourth, 19:09; James Vanwert, fifth, 22:05; Brian Kura, sixth, 22:13; Ben Shepard, seventh, 22:40; Don Young, eighth, 22:46; Eric Kuzma, ninth, 23:22; Sean Koomen, 10th, 23:28.
