CENTRALIA — Port Angeles graduate Adam Borde finished his high school wrestling career by winning six straight matches to finish sixth at the Washington State Wrestling Association Super State tournament held in Centralia.

Borde, wrestling in the 145-pound weight class for the Port Angeles Wrestling Club, lost his first match of the day Friday in a 64-man bracket. He won six in a row, including a match over Forks’ Colton Duncan by a 3-1 decision, to get into the third-place bracket. He lost that match 3-2 to Enrique Gonzalez to eventually finish sixth.

Borde finished as a three-time placer for Port Angeles at the tournament.

Borde was one of several Olympic Peninsula wrestlers who placed at the event.

Hayden Queen of the Forks Wrestling Club finished third in the 170-pound weight division and Kyle Caldwell of Chimacum/Port Townsend finished third at 195 pounds.

Dalton Kilmer of the Forks Wrestling Club finished fourth at 126 pounds, and Conner Demorest was fourth at 120 pounds. Forks’ Hayden Baker was fifth at 195.

Among girls, Savannah Hoffman of Port Townsend finished fifth at 120 pounds. Sequim’s Petra Bernsten finished fourth at 155 pounds.

Among freshmen and sophomores, Forks’ Matthew Montes came in fourth at 106 pounds and Walker Wheeler of Forks came in fourth at 138.
