Lincoln Park BMX track opens for season today
PORT ANGELES — The Lincoln Park BMX Track will hold its season-opening race today, at the track at the corner of S. L street and W. Lauridsen Blvd.
Sign up runs from noon to 1 p.m. with races following.
Practices are held Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with races running Tuesdays and Sundays through the end of September.
Race fees are $10 for single-point races, and practice fees are $5 with a current USABMX membership (yearly USABMX memberships are $60).
Strider memberships are $30 per year and practices and races are free.
One-day memberships are available for those wanting to try the sport.
The track is under new management this season with veteran racer Sean Coleman heading up Lincoln Park BMX Association.

Youth soccer camps
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Youth Soccer Club is accepting registrations for its summer soccer camps.
Camps will be held the weeks of June 26-30 and July 24-28 at Peninsula College.
U8 and U9 campers will go from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and the price is $35.
U10 through U16 players will camp from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the price is $100.

Baseball tryouts today
SEQUIM — Olympic Crosscutters will hold tryouts for its new 11U summer travel baseball team today.
The tryouts will be held at the baseball field at Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave., at 6 p.m.
The team will play in eight tournaments between June and August.
It will be coached by Adam Johnson of Port Angeles, Justin Giles of Sequim and Dan Anderson of Jefferson County.
The team will work with players who are already participating in other programs and work with players and coaches to accomodate existing schedules so players can play on more than one team.
The cost to play for the Crosscutters is $600 and includes three sets of uniforms and eight tournament fees.

PT golfers are champs
PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend boys golf team has been selected as the Class 1A Academic State Champion by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association after posting a team grade point average of 3.728.
Team members are: Patrick Morton, Jacob Madison, Caleb Johnson, Brad Grable, Chris Durham and Sam Boatman.
The team is coached by Gabriel Tonan, a 1993 Port Townsend High School graduate.
PC’s Rodisha signs
BELMONT, Calif — Peninsula College’s Anaya Rodisha has signed to play basketball for NCAA Division II institution Notre Dame de Namur University.
Rodisha, a guard on the Pirates’ women’s basketball team, was third on the squad in scoring last season averaging 12.85 points per game, along with 4.85 rebounds and 1.38 steals.
She announced her commitment on Twitter, where she thanked her Peninsula College coaches.
“I just wanna thank God, my family and my coaches for guidance, love and commitment,” Rodisha posted. “I’m so thankful.”
Rodisha also posted a special thank you to Pirates head coach Alison Crumb.
“I don’t have enough characters to express how much you’ve done for me,” Rodisha posted. “I appreciate you and I will miss you dearly. It’s always #crumbnation.”
