SEQUIM — Peninsula College Athletics will hold its lone fundraiser of the year, the annual Pirate Golf Tournament, at The Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course on Saturday, June 5.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Pirate athletic scholarships.
Peninsula was unable to host its yearly Casino Night fundraiser due to the pandemic, so this event is crucial to fundraising efforts for the basketball, soccer and esports programs.
The tournament has a four-person scramble format with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Individuals also can sign up and will be placed on teams.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
Green fees are $100 per player, and a green fee plus player package includes two mulligans, raffle ticket and one putt for wine contest entry.
There will be opportunities for hole-in-one prizes, including a $10,000 prize ($5,000 to the golfer, $5,000 to Peninsula College Athletics) and a car provided by Wilder Auto.
Lunch will be provided after the final group finishes play, along with results and a prize drawing.

Athlete’s Choice win
PORT ANGELES — Athlete’s Choice improved to 3-1 on the Olympic Junior Babe Ruth season with a 19-9 win over Swain’s on Tuesday.
Coach Adam Johnson said the game was close through three innings.
“The bottom of the fourth, we came alive scoring 12 of our 19 runs with the whole lineup making their way around the bases at least once,” Johnson said.
Cole Johnson, Josiah Gooding, Kody Williams and Brian Guttormsen combined on the mound for the win.
