Peninsula girls make all-state softball teams

VANCOUVER — Forks, Sequim, Quilcene and Port Angeles have representatives on the Washington State Softball Coaches Association 1A and 2A All-State softball teams.

These players were voted on by prep softball coaches.

Making the 2A all-state team as an honorable mention was Sequim’s Isabelle Dennis as a second baseman and Port Angeles’ Peyton Rudd as a utility player.

Making the 1A all-state team as a second team player was Forks infielder Jayden Olson. Her teammates Rian Peters and Britney Dean were honorable mentions — Peters as a catcher and Dean as a pitcher.

Woodland’s Olivia Grey, a pitcher, was named the player of the year among 2A schools and Woodland coach Tom Christensen was named coach of the year.
