PC summer camp will run July 9-13
PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Summer Basketball Camp will be held from July 9 to 13 at the Peninsula College gym.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Cost is $90 and campers are expected to bring their own ball, athletic attire and water bottles.
The goal of the camp is to put “fun” back into fundamentals with the goal to create a safe learning environment teaching kids good habits both off and on the basketball court. The camp will focus on ball-handling, passing, shooting, defense and other basketball concepts.

Vets at Lefties
PORT ANGELES — The Coast Guard Cutter Active and the Port Angeles Lefties are inviting Vietnam veterans and Gold Star spouses to be thanked and honored for their sacrifices and service before the Lefties game on Saturday.
Gates will be open for guests at 5:30 p.m. with the ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. at Civic Field in Port Angeles. The ceremony will be officiated by Commander Jennifer Runion, Executive Officer, CGC Active.
Veterans and their spouses will also be given complementary tickets to the Lefties game against Yakima that begins at 6:35 p.m.
Lefties crush Cowlitz
LONGVIEW — The Lefties crushed the Cowlitz Black Bears Sunday night on the road 16-3 to finish the first half of the West Coast League season at 12-15. No box score information was available before press deadline.
The Lefties returned home Monday to play the Kelowna Falcons to begin the second half of the WCL season. The Lefties play the Falcons again at 6:35 p.m. today.
