ASHLAND, Ore. — Port Angeles distance runner Jack Gladfelter finished second at the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships in the 10,000-meter race, making CCC All-Conference for his performance.
Gladfelter, who runs for Corban University in Salem, Ore., finished in 30 minutes, 59.8 seconds, less than once second out of first place. The winner was Hayden Bostrom from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. The race took place at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore.

It was Gladfelter’s third all-conference award while at Corban. He was also all-confrence in cross country in 2023 and 2024. He was also an NAIA All-American after finishing eighth in the cross0-country nationals in November 2024.
Also in the race was Gladfelter’s former Port Angeles teammate, Max Baeder, who now runs for The Evergreen State College. Baeder finished a solid ninth in a time of 32:43.67, a personal record.
Gladfelter’s next race will be in the 10,000 meters in the NAIA national championship May 21 at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. His top time in the event 30:30 is ranked seventh in the nation.
Peninsula Soccer League results
PORT ANGELES — Strait Slice and Forks FC remained at the top of the standings of the Peninsula Soccer League with victories this week.
Forks FC beat Salazar Painting 6-4, getting four goals from Hugo Sandoval Jr. Jesus Garcia and Arturo Dominguez also scored. For Salazar Painting, Rafael Flores scored a pair of goals, while Luis Galvan had a goal.
Strait Slice beat the Bandidos FC 1-0.
In other games, Ediz Hook FC beat Windemere 1-0 and High Energy Metals beat Meyer Electric 2-1 with Travis Priest and Jake Huhges scoring goals.Josiah Long had a goal for Meyer Electric.
Los Primos beat Wilder FC 7-1 as Chencho Torres, Daniel Torres and Edgar Aceved all scored a pair of goals and Samuel Aceved added a goal. Ron Welches scored for Wilder.
Strait Slice has a record of 4-0-2 (14 points), while Forks FC is right behind at 4-1-1 (13 points). Salazar Painting and Windermere are tied for third at 3-2-1 (10 points).
