Motorcycle hillclimb off Deer Park

PORT ANGELES —Hurricane Hill 2017, a timed motorcycle hillclimb, will be held at Olympic Peninsula Motorcycle Club off Deer Park Road on Saturday and Sunday.

Gates and registration open each day at 7 a.m. The first bike is tentatively scheduled to climb the hill at 10 a.m. each day.

Admission is $5 each day, free for seniors and ages 10 and younger.

Overnight parking is $5. Entry fees for the trophy class are $25 and $30 for the money class.

Pee wee, mini and pit bike classes as well as Stock, vintage and modified/exhibition bikes will compete.

To reach the course, drive 1 mile up Deer Park Road, turn right on Twin Firs Estates Drive and follow the signs to the event.

Volleyball camp

PORT ANGELES — A volleyball camp for players entering kindergarten through ninth grade will be hosted by the Port Angeles High School volleyball team at the school gym Monday through Thursday, July 10-13.

The cost is $50 and supports Roughrider volleyball teams in need of equipment, uniforms and tournament travel.

Athletes going into kindergarten through fifth grade will attend from 9 a.m. to noon.

Athletes entering sixth through ninth grades will go from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The morning session will focus on fundamentals and is geared toward beginning players.

Afternoon sessions will have a focus of teamwork, systems, rotations and competition. They are more tailored to a player with at least two to three years of camp/team experience.

Players may go to the session that best fits their experience level regardless of age with the coaches’ recommendation.

Registration must be received by July 1 to guarantee a T-shirt.

Drag racing set

FORKS — West End Thunder drag races will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Forks Municipal Airport on South Forks Avenue.

Gates open to the public at 8:30 a.m.

General admission is $10 with children younger than 12 admitted free.

Show and Shine entry is $15.

All race entry is $35.
