AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Marine Area 3 to close to all salmon fishing Tuesday

OLYMPIA — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has closed Marine Area 3 (La Push) to salmon retention beginning today.

All salmon fishing is closed. Possession of salmon onboard a vessel in Marine Area 3 is prohibited, including on boats in transit to other marine areas.

The WDFW took this action because the Marine Area 3 fishery was projected to reach its coho catch quota of 2,590 hatchery fish by the end of Monday.
