AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Local 155 wins in Junior Babe Ruth action

PORT ANGELES — Local 155 bested Swain’s 9-2 in Olympic Junior Babe Ruth play Tuesday at Volunteer Park.

Bryce DeLeon and Brandt Perry combined for the win on the mound for Local, scattering eight hits, two walks and one earned run, with DeLeon picking up the win.

DeLeon also powered Local’s offense with two doubles and two runs scored. Brian Belbin had one hit and three runs scored.

Also picking up hits for local were Cole Beeman, Chris Jaynes, Brandt Perry and Ian Smithson.

Hunter Tennell and Ryland Proiette led Swain’s with two hits each. Tate Alton, Luke Flodstrom, Jordan Shumway and Trae Hanan all had hits.

Olympic Junior Babe Ruth has a full slate of games at Volunteer Park from now until mid-June. Games start at 5:30 p.m. on weeknights with a full concession stand.
