New Year’s Shootout Tournament pushed to Jan. 29

PORT TOWNSEND — Registration is underway for Port Townsend Little League’s spring T-Ball, baseball and softball offerings at www.ptll.org.

Early bird discounts are available, making T-Ball registration $45 and baseball and softball $65.

T-Ball is coed and for new and inexperienced players ages 4 through 7.

Baseball also is coed with Minor Prep (pitching machine for ages 5-11), Minors (player pitch) for 7-11, Majors for 9-12 and Juniors for 12-14.

Softball is for girls ages 7-12 with Minors and Majors divisions.

Scholarships are available to cover costs.

Sequim sets dates

SEQUIM — Sequim Little League has set dates for its player assessments ahead of the spring baseball and softball seasons.

Player assessments are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Feb. 5, at Peninsula College’s Sigmar Field.

Baseball and softball players who will play in Minors through Seniors divisions must attend at least 50 percent of the assessments.

Registration is $75 for T-Ball and $100 for Prep through Seniors and is available at sequimlittleleague.com.

The T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant Program is back again to help cover registration fees for Little League families in need for the 2022 season.

Shootout pushed

PORT ANGELES — With snow lingering at Peninsula Golf Club’s 18th green, the course has moved its third annual New Year’s Shootout to Saturday, Jan. 29.

The 10 a.m. shotgun start tournament includes a front nine format of a two-person scramble, followed by a back nine of a two-person shamble.

Partners can have up to an eight-stroke handicap differential.

Entry fees are $65 for the public, $45 for members or employees.

Gross and net merchandise awards are included, along with a closest to the pin contest and two drink tickets per player.
