4x4, mud drags this weekend in PT

PORT ANGELES — Laurel Lanes’ Kids Bowl Free program is underway once again from now through Sept. 1 for kids ages 2-18.

Kids Bowl Free provides two free games of bowling each day for youth. Rental shoes are not included.

Family passes also can be purchased for a one-time fee, which provides bowling benefits to parents or other family members who wish to participate.

Disc golf tourney

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Disc Golf Park will hold an Inaugural Doubles Tournament fundraiser for the Rhododendron Festival Scholarship Fund at the Port Townsend Golf Course, 1948 Blaine St., on Saturday.

Entry fees are $20 with random doubles, open and novice divisions.

Check-in starts at noon with a 1 p.m. player meeting and a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start.

Prizes from local businesses will be up for grabs.

Spectators are welcome.

The disc golf course will be open to the public after the tournament and April 21.

Lady Niners active

SEQUIM — The Cedars at Dungeness Lady Niners played a game of Mid Holes during an outing April 11.

Sandy Ruby was the big winner with low game score, a chip-in on hole No. 9, and the low of 15 putts for the nine-hole round. Cherste Nilde, another low game winner, recorded a birdie on the eighth hole.

Ladies interested in joining are invited to golf with the group.

4×4 racing weekend

PORT TOWNSEND — The Jeff Co. 4×4 Club will host a weekend of mud drags and tough truck racing Saturday and Sunday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. and racing will start at 11 a.m. both days.

Admission is $5, with camping available for $20.

Mud drags will be held Saturday with 4, 6, 8, Open and Kids Quads classes.

Entry fees are $25 per class.

The tough truck competition is open to all; entries are $35.
