AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Klahhane Bronze team first in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD — The Klahhane Gymnastics Bronze Team too first place in their division at the Snowball Classic held at Grace Gymnastics at the Lakewood YMCA.

The girls’ combined team score was 113.45.

Individually, CarlyMae Riggs made a clean sweep, placing first in four events and scoring 38.2 points in the junior A all-around competition. She also scored a 9.65 in the floor exercise.

Charlotte Neville, also competing in the junior A division, had a 9.60 with a great floor routine. Lainey DePiro took third in the senior B age group, scoring 37.35 in the all-around competition. DePiro finished with the highest score of the day with a 9.8 on the balance beam.

Raeleigh Thomason placed fourth in the all-around just behind DePiro with a 37.30.

Mckinlee Thomason and Harper Waterkotte had identical all-around scores of 36.15 to qualify for the state meet in March. Paytynn Lindley and Morgan Smith rounded out the team performance with vaults of 9.30 and 9.0 respectively.

Earlier in the day in the platinum division, Mariah Traband won the junior A all-around with a 33.525, taking first place on the floor with an 8.95. Kira Hartman also competed in the platinum division.

Elyse Brown (36.05) took third in junior B all-around competition with Harper Hilliker (35.45) taking fourth in the junior A age group. Also competing in the gold division were Raynee Ciarlon, Graycelyn Goss and Daylen Williams.
