Pirates top Chokers

MOUNT VERNON — Kaelin Crane hit every shot he attempted — from the floor and the free throw line — to lead the Peninsula College men’s basketball team to an 81-63 win over Grays Harbor on Friday in the Skagit Valley Turkey Tournament.

Crane knocked down eight shots, including a pair of 3-point baskets, and all four of his free throw attempts to lead the Pirates (2-0) in scoring with 22. Crane, a transfer from Green River where he averaged 17.74 points per game last year, scored 21 last Saturday to lead all Peninsula scorers in a season-opening win Nov. 18.

Trent Warren added 17 points, Eli’sha Sheppard added 12 off the bench and Forks’ Marky Adams posted nine points.

The Pirates play against Portland at 10 a.m. today.
