AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Hoops for Hearts tourney in Forks

FORKS — Hoops for Hearts, a benefit 3-on-3 youth basketball tournament with middle school and high school brackets, will be held Saturday at Forks High School.

Registration will open at 10 a.m. The cost to register is $20.

Proceeds will be donated to Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest to aid local residents dealing with heart complications.

The event is the senior project of Forks High School seniors Jayden Olson and Rian Peters.

Crippen tourney

FORKS — The Nate Crippen Memorial Basketball Tournament will be held at Forks High School the weekend of March 28-29.

The tournament celebrates Crippen by raising funds for a $1,000 scholarship for Forks High School seniors.

Forks registration

FORKS — Fast pitch softball and baseball registration events are coming up this month in Forks.

Registration events will be held at Pacific Pizza, 870 S. Forks Ave., from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 26, March 30 and April 1.

The leagues are for players from third grade to age 12. Boys cannot turn 13 before May 1, and girls can not have turned 13 before Jan. 1.

The cost is $50 for each player, which is due at registration.

No late sign-ups will be accepted because coaches and teams must be determined immediately.

The season will start after spring break.
