PORT ANGELES — Sunday is the first race of the season at the Lincoln Park BMX track.
The Lincoln Park BMX week begins Wednesday with a mountain bike open house. Kids and adults can bring their mountain bikes or dirt jumpers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. People can receive a free one-day membership for the open house.
Practices will be held Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per rider. Membership is required and one-day memberships are available. People can sign up at LPBMX.presign.me or sign up in person.
The single-point Sunday races will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $12 if riders presign or $15 if they sign up in person.
Sequim Irrigation Festival
SEQUIM — The Sequim Irrigation Festival is holding three runs on May 6 and May 7 as part of the festival this year.
A 5K and 1-mile run will be held at 10 a.m. at Carrie Blake Park near the bandshell, and a half-marathon (13 miles) run will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday, beginning at Troll Haven Brandy Farm along Gardner Beach Road and the Olympic Discovery Trail and finishing at Carrie Blake Park.

Packet pickup is available May 6 at Carrie Blake Park for the half-marathon. People can also pick up their packets on race day.
Parking at the starting line at Troll Haven is limited and may not be available. There will be shuttle buses from Carrie Blake Park to the starting line. There is also lodging available at the Troll Haven property, but accommodations will fill up quickly.
RTC reception
SEQUIM — You can join the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy for an evening reception to celebrate the progress being made toward completing the western terminus of the Great American Rail-Trail, which will be the nation’s first cross-country trail entirely bikeable across 3,700 miles from Washington state to Washington, D.C.
The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 7 Cedars Hotel and Casino in Blyn. Representatives from the Peninsula Trails Coalition, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, North Kitsap Trails Association and Bainbridge Island Parks and Trails Foundation will attend.
