Free football camp in Sequim June 30

JeffCo summer hoops camp set July 31-Aug. 3

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Parks and Recreation will hold its annual summer basketball camp for kids ages 6 through 13 from July 31 through Aug. 3.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Blue Heron Middle School gym, 3939 San Juan Ave.

This camp helps to prepare players for game play through drills that improve technique in dribbling, shooting, passing and other fundamentals.

All skill levels are welcome.

The cost is $75 per player.

Players should bring their own snack and water bottle and wear non-marking shoes.

The deadline to sign up is July 22.

Wrestling clinic set

SEQUIM — The third annual Gene Mills Pin 2 Win Wrestling Camp will be hosted by the Sequim High School wrestling team July 5-8.

The camp will be held in Rick Kaps Memorial Gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Campers will receive lunch each day and a Pin2Win camp T-shirt.

Free football camp

SEQUIM — Youth football coach Sam Salanoa will host his second annual free youth football camp June 30.

The camp for ages 6 through 14 will be held at the Albert Haller Playfields from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There will be no pads involved. They should just wear a T-shirt, shorts and some cleats.

Players should also bring their own water.

The Camper of the Day will win two tickets to a Seattle Seahawks training camp practice, the fastest camper will be determined and autographed items from Seattle’s Tyler Lockett will be given away.

Pizza and ice cream will be provided after the camp.

Salanoa is a Port Angeles High School assistant and a longtime Sequim Wolf Pack coach.

Wolf Pack registration

SEQUIM — Sequim Wolf Pack Youth Football & Cheer will hold back-to-back registration and uniform sizing events today.

Both will be held in the Olympic Peninsula Academy gym, 200 N. Second Ave., with cheerleading at 2 p.m. and football for kindergarten through sixth grade following at 4 p.m.

Children entering kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to cheer. They should wear athletic clothing for accurate sizing.
