Sequim spiker stars

OLYMPIA — Megan Breckenridge, a 2016 Sequim High School graduate and sophomore at The Evergreen State College, earned Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week honors in early September after her outstanding play for the Geoducks in a pair of conference volleyball matches.

She totaled 45 digs over eight sets while playing one match at libero and the second at outside hitter. She had just one receive error and also totaled five aces during the week as the Geoducks defeated Walla Walla on Aug. 30, and lost to Northwest, both in four sets.

Breckenridge was honored as the 2015 All-Peninsula Volleyball MVP by the Peninsula Daily News.

She is joined on the Geoducks roster by Port Angeles’ Kiana Robideau.
