Coho limit cut to one Monday
PORT ANGELES — The daily bag limit of coho will drop to one hatchery coho as part of a two-salmon limit beginning Monday.
Reports of small body size and low numbers were unanimous in a conference call conducted by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife and tribal co-managers around Puget Sound, according to David Stormer, Puget Sound recreational salmon manager.
Marine areas impacted by this move on the North Olympic Peninsula include 5 (Sekiu), 6 (Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca), 9 (Admiralty Inlet).
Salmon fishing is open through Sept. 30 in all of the above listed areas.
Pumpkin Fun Run
PORT ANGELES —The Port Angeles Choir Boosters’ first ever 5K Pumpkin Fun Run & Walk will be held along the Waterfront Trail at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
Runners will begin and end in front of the Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln Street.
A dog and family friendly costume event, the race will offer a prize for the best costume.
Pumpkins will be hidden along the trail for participants to count and win prizes for guessing correctly.
Hot cocoa and apple cider will be served at the finishing line.
Registration by Oct. 5 guarantees a commemorative T-shirt and custom finisher medal.
The cost is $35 for adults, $25 for students, with kids in strollers free.

PT Little League
PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Little League will hold its annual public meeting Monday, Oct. 21.
The meeting will be held in the downstairs section of the Jefferson County Rec Center, 620 Tyler St.
