AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Big Hurt party to register participants

PORT ANGELES — A “registration party” for the Big Hurt will be held at Harbinger Winery, 2358 W. U.S. Highway 101, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.

The Big Hurt is a multi-sport race that combines mountain bike, kayak and road bike legs and a 10K run.

The first five individuals or teams to register that night and sing the Big Hurt theme song will receive 10 percent off entrance fees.

After the first five people have registered, other participants will receive 5 percent off.

This is also a good chance to meet the race organizers and ask questions about the event. Athletes who are interested but need a team will have the opportunity to meet others in the same situation.
