AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Beer Fest Saturday supports Hurricane Ridge

Beer fest benefit supports Ridge foundation

BLYN — The sixth annual Far West Beer Fest on Saturday, Aug. 11 will benefit the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Foundation.

The event, featuring more than 20 craft breweries and cider makers, will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside at 7 Cedars Casino.

Admission includes five tasting tokens and a 5 ounce souvenir tasting glass. Additional tokens will be available for purchase.

Live music, games, entertainment and festival food also are planned.

Tickets are $30 if purchased the day of the event.

Sprint boat tickets

PORT ANGELES — Tickets and reserved camping spots for the upcoming sprint boat races on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Extreme Sports Park are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Ticket prices are $25 for adults (ages 16 and older); $20 for seniors (55 and older) and the military; $15 for kids ages 6 to 15 and free for kids age 5 and under.

Camping fees are $30 for Friday through Sunday and $40 for Thursday through Sunday. Seniors and veterans receive a $5 discount.

Pit passes are available at the event only for an additional $5.

Troll run upcoming

GARDINER — A Hawaiian theme will accompany the Valley of the Trolls 4 Trolls Gone Hawaiian half marathon, 10k and 5k run/walk events on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The USATF-certified events are held at Bandy Farms and the Troll Haven grounds at 950 Gardiner Beach Road, a privately-owned estate occupying 150 acres along Discovery Bay.

Registration is $60 for the half-marathon run/walk; $45 for the 10K run/walk; and $40 for the 5K run/walk.

T-shirts and a commemorative finisher medal are included in the entry fee.

Those registering from now until the race will receive shirts either race day or by mail.
