Beuke All-American

SEATTLE — Sequim High School graduate and University of Washington rower Elise Beuke was named a First Team All-American this week by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.

Beuke was a member of the UW women’s national championship rowing team. Her eight-woman boat at UW was also a national champion.

Beuke is one of just 24 women named to the First Team All-American squad and one of four UW rowers on the first team. The others were Katy Gillingham, Brooke Pierson and Karle Pittsinger. A Washington State rower, Ieva Adomaviciute, also made First Team All-American.

Beuke, just a sophomore, graduated from Sequim High School in 2015. That year, she won a silver medal at the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships and finished seventh in the World Junior Rowing Championships.

As a member of the UW crew, she sat in the seventh seat in the varsity eight first team.
