White knocks a triple, drives in three for Wolves

SEQUIM — Brayden White led a strong Sequim batting attack as the Wolves battered Olympic 18-8 at home Wednesday to earn a split in the teams’ two-game series.

White was 4-for-5 at the plate with a triple, scoring three runs and driving in three more.

Sequim tallied 13 hits, 12 of them singles.

Lincoln Bear and Ethan Staples each drove in three runs, and Bryant LaBoy reached base five times but only earned one official at-bat. LaBoy was 1-for-1 with a walk, was hit by three pitches and scored four runs.

White also struck out five batters in two innings on the mound.

Sequim (4-4, 4-7) hosts Bainbridge on Tuesday.

Wilder benefit tourney

PORT ANGELES — The Wilder Baseball Club four-person golf fundraiser will be held at 10 a.m. May 3 at Peninsula Golf Club.

Cost is $120 per person or $480 per team.

Other contests will include a long drive competition on the course’s simulator, chipping and split-the-pot competitions, and a hit-the-cone fungo skill contest as well as putting for a bottle of wine from Harbinger Winery.

Lunch and cart use are included.

There will be a raffle, and golfers can win a new car from Wilder Auto in Port Angeles if they can make a hole-in-one.

Tee or hole sponsorships up to $1,000 are available. That includes a tee or hole sponsorship and a four-person team. Sponsors can have their logos on a tee box or hole.

BMX open house set

PORT ANGELES — A beginners-only BMX open house for ages 3-17 will be hosted by Lincoln Park BMX, 1798 W. Lauridsen Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 30.

The public is welcome to tour the facility, test out the track and learn more about program offerings such as the upcoming BMX Racing League.

Equipment, including loaner bikes and helmets, will be provided.

Cornhole hoops benefit

SEQUIM — The third annual Sequim Youth Basketball Cornhole Tournament is set for 7 Cedars Casino at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The tournament is open to those 21 and older.
