AMERICAN LEGION: Wilder Sr. drops game to Whatcom; Wilder A wins a pair

ISSAQUAH — Wilder Senior fell 9-2 to Whatcom Post No. 7 to close out a weekend of games in Bellevue and Issaquah.

The seniors managed just five hits and uncharacteristically struggled in the field with four errors.

Braydan White pitched well in relief, going four innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs. He struck out two.

Kaleb Mullen was 1-for-3 with a run scored while Kody Williams was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Tate Alton was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Colton Romero and Ethan Staples also had hits.

Wilder Senior (13-16) next plays at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday against Lakeside Legion 18U and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday against Lakeside Recovery Gray, with all four games at Volunteer Field.

Wilder A wins a pair

SELAH — Wilder A picked up a pair of victories this weekend in Selah, beating the Bellingham AA team 8-5 and the Yakima Junior Beetles 6-1.

Against Bellingham AA, Wilder A scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead. Ben Clemens finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Abe Brenkman had a double and scored two runs, while Kade Acker, Parker Pavlak and Eden Peterson all had a hit, a run scored and an RBI.

On the mound, Clemens went five innings, allowing six hits and four earned runs while striking out six.

Against the Yakima Junior Beetles, Dominik Ward had a big game, belting two doubles, scoring a run and driving one in. Archer Prchal was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in.

Khyler Thompson-Fowler pitched the entire game, allowing seven hits and one earned run. He struck out five and walked three.

Wilder A plays at the Royals AAA team in Stanwood at 1 p.m. today.
