AMERICAN LEGION: Wilder Sr. dominates in shutout over California club

EUREKA, Calif. — It continues to be a tournament of shutouts for Wilder Senior in California.

Wilder has been involved in five shutouts out of six games played in Eureka, winning three of those games. The Olympic Peninsula squad had another shutout Saturday night, crushing Siskiyou 15-0 in five innings behind a one-hitter by Wyatt Hall.

Wilder Senior outhit Siskiyou (from far Northern California) 20-1, smacking a total of four doubles and three triples. The local club has gone 3-2-1 in the tournament against competition from Northern California and Oregon (Wilder had a game ruled a 6-6 tie early in the tournament.).

Hall had a monster game both on the mound and at the plate. He pitched the entire game, giving up one walk in addition to a single. He struck out eight.

Meanwhile, at the plate, he had a double, a walk, a hit by pitch and three RBIs.

Ty Bradow hit a double and a triple and scored two runs while driving in one. Logan Olson hit 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Conner Bear was 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored, two stolen bases, a hit-by-pitch and an RBI. Landon Seibel went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, while Michael Grubb was 3-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Joining the hit parade were Adam Watkins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI; Kole Acker, who hit 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBIs and two walks, and Kamron Meadows, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBIs and a walk.

Wilder Sr. is next scheduled to play four games at the Nate Steffens Memorial Tournament beginning Friday at Skagit Valley Community College in Mount Vernon.
