AMERICAN LEGION: Wilder A falls to Kingston Kings

PORT ANGELES — The Kingston Kings scored four runs in the first inning and the Wilder A Baseball Club was not able to bounce back in a 10-3 loss Monday at Volunteer Field.

Noah Johnstad had a big game, going 3-for-3 with a run scored. Easton Schlichting went 2-for-3, while Zach DeBray had a hit. Morgan Evans had a sacrifice fly for an RBI.

On the mound, DeBray started, going three innings and allowing seven hits and four earned runs. He struck out two. Eden Peterson struck out three in 1⅓ innings and Noah Green went 2⅔ innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs.

Eli Allen, a star player for the Quilcene Rangers, plays for Kingston and went 1-for-3.

Wilder A (3-10) next hosts the Chehalis Awesome at Volunteer Field at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday and travel to Tenino to play a doubleheader against the Trappers on Monday.

Wilder Junior (16-4) played a doubleheader Wednesday at the Centralia Baseball Club, with results after press deadline. The juniors host the same Kingston Kings team at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Civic Field, then host the Centralia Baseball Club at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, also at Civic Field.

Wilder Senior (18-5) is at a tournament at Medical Lake all week, playing the NW 509 Stars at 9 a.m. and Whatcom Post No. 7 at 11:30 a.m. today and the AHP Renegades at 11:30 a.m. and Spokane Cannons at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
