AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL: Wilder Jr. shuts out Wollochet behind DeLeon

PORT ANGELES — Wilder Junior completed a sweep over Wollochet with four-hit 8-0 shutout victory late Sunday afternoon.

Bryce DeLeon got the complete-game victory. He walked none and struck out three.

At the plate, Wilder Junior managed just five hits but scored two runs on bases-loaded walks and two more on an error.

Abe Brenkman was 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs. Jensen Wolfe had two RBIs and Ian Smithson had a hit, a run scored, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base.

Earlier in the day, Wilder Junior beat Wollochet 10-1 as Hunter Tennell had a big game, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, and Ethan Swenson had a double and three RBIs. Wilder Junior (5-4) next travels to Selah on Thursday for a four-day tournament. The juniors play Sedro-Woolley AA on Thursday night and then play the Yakima Valley Peppers on Friday night. The team plays a doubleheader Saturday against Whatcom Post No. 7 AA and RCA Underclass on Saturday with other games Sunday.

Wilder Senior (8-2) had a four-game sweep over Whatcom Post No. 7 this weekend that featured both a game-winning hit and a grand slam by Braydan White and a no-hitter by Ethan Staples. Wilder Senior will play at a Mount Vernon tournament beginning noon Friday against Diamond Sports Premier and against Washington Awards 18U at 2:30 p.m.

The Wilder A team lost to Chehalis Awesome Chevy 9-2 on Monday morning. Morgan Evans was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Eden Peterson hit a triple.
