ALL PENINSULA WRESTLING TEAM: Forks grapplers honored for efforts

PORT ANGELES — Forks, with eight state medalists, dominates the All-Peninsula Wrestling Team, with one exception, a very solid girls’ wrestler from Sequim.

Forks wrestlers placed fourth at state at the Mat Classic, and the Spartans aren’t going away next year, as only three members of the team were seniors.

Headlined by Forks’ Josue Lucas, a repeat choice as All-Peninsula MVP, here is the 2017-18 Peninsula Daily News All-Peninsula Wrestling Team:

• Kiara Pierson, Sequim: Pierson finished second at the Mat Classic at 135 pounds. She pinned three straight opponents at state, then was outpointed in the championship 4-2.
