ALL-PENINSULA 8-MAN FOOTBALL: Budnek, Lee, Carrick among selections

• All-Peninsula 8-Man Football MVP: Bishop Budnek, sr., Quilcene: Injuries limited Budnek to seven games, but what an impact. Ran 158 times for 1,455 yards (9.2 yards /per carry) with 26 touchdowns. Also had 37 tackles and 1.5 sacks in limited action defensively.

• QB/DB: Julian Carrick, jr., Neah Bay: Showed the ability to take over games offensively and make plays defensively. A first-team Class 1B Northwest selection.

• RB/DB Kevin Alejo, sr., Quilcene: Carried the load offensively while Budnek was recovering. Second on team in tackles with 98 and led Rangers with seven interceptions. Recovered three fumbles and forced two more.

• FB/LB Kaeden Butterfield, jr., Neah Bay: Red Devils’ toughest player.

• TE/RB/QB/DB Neil Bowechop, jr. Neah Bay: A first-team Class 1B Northwest selection.

• RB/LB: Jodell Wimberly, fr., Neah Bay: Led the Red Devils in total yardage with 659 and touchdowns scored with seven.

• OL/LB: Deakon Budnek, jr., Quilcene: Recorded a whopping 118 total tackles with nine tackles for loss and four sacks playing in 10 of Rangers’ 12 games.

• OL/DL Andre Green, jr., Neah Bay: A first-team Class 1B Northwest selection.

• OL/DL Tyler Swan, eighth grade, Neah Bay: Started at the toughest line position (center) as an eighth-grader for a state-bound team.

• OL/DE Dominic Smith, soph., Quilcene: Defensive end led the entire North Olympic Peninsula with 18 sacks. Third on Rangers with 90 tackles.

• RB/LB Wyatt Lee, RB/LB, sr., Crescent: Class 1B Northwest Football first-team.

• RB/DB Brayden Emery, sr., Crescent: Class 1B Northwest Football first-team.

• WR/DB Connor Baners, soph., Crescent: Class 1B Northwest Football first-team.
