NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay boys and girls basketball teams both qualified for the state 1B basketball tournament with victories, while the Crescent boys lost to No. 1-ranked Lummi but are still alive in the postseason.
The Neah Bay boys beat Summit Classical 74-48 while the No. 1-ranked girls crushed Grace Academy 78-12.
Crescent still has work to do to make state. The Loggers gave Lummi a tough game in the first half, but fell 55-27.

Neah Bay (16-4, No. 4 Ratings Percentage Index) will next play at 7:45 p.m. Friday against Muckleshoot (19-4). That game will be played at Mount Vernon Christian High School.
The Red Devils got three 3-pointers from Tyler Swan, normally an inside player, for 17 points to go with 10 rebounds. Jodell Wimberly also hit three 3-pointers and scored 13. Makyah Chambers hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 14. Seactis Woodruff was also in double figures with 10 points.

Lummi 55, Crescent 27
LUMMI — Crescent was only down five points at halftime against the No. 1-ranked team in the state, but Lummi pulled away in a 35-12 second half for a 55-27 victory.
“Lummi is pretty good,” said Crescent coach Chris Ferrier. “We played really hard, just couldn’t get the ball in the basket enough in the second half.”
The Loggers (18-4) are still alive. They next play Sound Christian (15-7) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Lutheran High School. If they win, they qualify for a berth in the state 1B tournament.
Henry Bourm and Lukas Love led the Loggers with nine points each.

NEAH BAY — The No. 1-ranked Neah Bay girls basketball team (17-2) had a dominant performance in its playoff opener, getting off to a 29-3 start in the first quarter and going on to beat Grace Academy 78-12.
Amber Swan hit a pair of 3-pointers and led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds. Qwaapeys Greene scored 15 and Angel Halttunen 12. Cerise Moss also hit a pair of 3-pointers.
The Red Devils next play rival Lummi (18-6) at 6 p.m. Friday at Mount Vernon Christian High School. If Neah Bay wins, it’s possible the girls will play the No. 2 team in the state, Mount Vernon Christian (21-4), in the tri-district finals at 6 p.m. Saturday.
