PORT ANGELES — Thomas Martin Roberts was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole, a week after he was found guilty of shooting to death Sheriff’s Deputy Wallace E. “Wally” Davis.
Roberts, 56, sat shackled and wearing a black-and-white striped jail jumpsuit in Clallam County Superior Court as members of Davis’ family told him what the murder two years ago has meant in their lives.
“You took my hero, you took my everything,” Davis’ daughter, Jessie, 17, told Roberts as she stood in front of the courtroom and pointed her finger at him.
“You killed my daddy,” she said.
Roberts glanced at Ms. Davis once and showed no emotion when Judge George L. Wood imposed the life sentence.
When Wood asked Roberts if he had anything to say, he shook his head.
Roberts will remain in the Clallam County jail until a Dec. 12 hearing to assess court costs and restitution.
