Four young adults from Port Angeles and Sequim are hoping that their fashions made entirely from sticky duct tape will win a national contest that kicks off today.
Teens across the United States will cast votes online beginning today to determine winners of the “Stuck at Prom Contest,” which rewards students for the best formal fashion creation using only duct tape.
Jessica Gustafson and Jeremiah McGuffey of Port Angeles High School, and Joe Madeo and Dystany Gierth of Sequim High School are competing against more than 200 couples for scholarships and other prizes.
Each student is hoping to win money for college in the contest sponsored by Duck Tape brand duct tape.
People can vote by visiting the Internet site www.ducktapeclub.com/prom/,then clicking on “2003 entries” and following instructions to vote. You’ll see pictures of the couples — plus all the other contestants.
