SEQUIM — Local writer Gene Bradbury, author of the soon-to-be released children’s book Fergus of Lighthouse Island, will read from recent stories and poetry at the LARC Gallery, 425 E. Washington St., on Thursday.
Admission is free to the 7 p.m. reading, and light refreshments will be served.
Bradbury, who lives in Sequim with his wife Debbie, will read his latest published short story, “ButtonyPhobia,” and then gauge the audience before he chooses what else to read.
The writer, whose work has been published in the local Tidepools journal and by Mouse Tales Press online magazine, also does school and preschool visits.

Unseen garden talk
PORT TOWNSEND — “The Unseen Garden (Lichen, Pollen, Spiderwebs): The Lesser Known Miracles” will be presented as the Jefferson County Master Gardener Foundation’s Yard & Garden Lecture Series continues
Saturday.
The event will be held at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St., at 10 a.m.
Former Washington State University Extension Master Gardener coordinator and horticulture faculty member Mary Robson will bring to life the smaller worlds present in your garden.
Robson is an author of several gardening books including Month by Month Gardening in Washington and Oregon.
Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased at the door if space is available; the lectures often sell out.

Donate clothing
PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Project Homeless Connect is collecting clean clothing (coats, pants, shirts) for the annual homeless outreach event set for the Vern Burton Community Center on Friday, March 7.
The homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless can visit and see what services are available, have a warm meal, get a haircut and receive some dental and optical checkups, along with other services provided by local businesses and agencies.
