OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — The final phase of a three-year road rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 101 at Lake Crescent will begin Monday.
Drivers should expect up to half-hour delays each direction during weekday work hours and slower travel times through the work zone, said Penny Wagner, Olympic National Park spokeswoman.
Longer delays are likely prior to Memorial Day weekend and will be announced in advance, Wagner said.
Major work in this final phase will include completing the guardrail installation, restoring the road width around milepost 229, paving the final 2½ inches of driving surface and striping.
Starting April 1, work hours will be restricted to two hours after sunrise to two hours before sunset.
Strider Construction Inc. of Bellingham is the contractor for the $27.5 million project to rehabilitate 12 miles of highway around the lake.
