PORT LUDLOW — A Port Orchard woman was injured but quickly released from medical care Saturday evening after a two-car collision partially closed state Highway 104 about 1.5 miles west of the Hood Canal Bridge for about an hour.
Pamela S. Hagwell, 68, was taken to Harrison Medical Center’s emergency room in Bremerton after a collision at about 5:04 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of state Highway 104 and South Point Road, according to a report by state Trooper Casey Corey.
On Sunday afternoon, a Harrison spokeswoman said that Hagwell had been treated and released.
According to the report, Clyde P. Paulus, 62, of Sequim was driving a blue 1998 Chevrolet Astro van eastbound on Highway 104 approaching South Point Road at about 5 p.m.
Hagwell, driving a silver 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, was westbound on Highway 104 in the lane to turn left on South Point Road.
She attempted to make the left turn, and the Oldsmobile collided with the Astro Van in the eastbound lane.
The occupants of the van were unhurt, according to the report.
The eastbound lane was blocked for about an hour as the State Patrol investigated.
Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue, Quilcene Fire Department, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue, Naval Magazine Indian Island and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
Both vehicles were damaged and towed from the scene.
Hagwell was cited with failure to yield the right of way.
