PORT ANGELES — A 63-year-old woman was seriously hurt after a two-vehicle rollover wreck at U.S. Highway 101 and North Masters Road this evening.
A tan Chevy Colorado collided with the side of a red Chevrolet Blazer driven by the 63-year-old woman at the intersection, causing it to roll over, said Assistant Chief Dan Huff of Clallam County Fire District No. 2.
Neither driver was identified as of Sunday evening, and it was not immediately clear how the wreck at the Morse Creek curve occurred, Huff said.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, he said.
The wreck was reported at 5:19 p.m.
Westbound lanes of Highway 101 were blocked while the woman was extricated from the SUV, and firefighters cleaned up a fuel spill that ran across the highway.
The woman was transported to Olympic Medical Center for treatment, said Clallam County Fire District No. 2 Chief Sam Phillips.
“It appears she has serious but non-life threatening injuries,” Phillips said.
The male driver declined transport, he said.
Traffic was reduced to one lane each way at the scene.
All lanes were expected to be open by 7 p.m., Phillips said.
State Patrol troopers were investigating the wreck and are expected to release more information Monday.
Deputies from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the U.S. Border Patrol also assisted at the scene.
