SEQUIM — One of two people sought in a Sequim motel robbery has been taken into custody, according to the Sequim Police Department.
Shelby Schleve, 21, of Sequim voluntarily surrendered herself to law enforcement Tuesday afternoon, said Detective Sgt. Sean Madison.
“She turned herself in with the help and encouragement of her family. It’s safer for everyone this way,” Madison said.
She was expected to be booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of first-degree robbery, he said.

Sequim police continue to seek an unidentified man in an armed robbery reported early Friday at the Sequim West Inn, 740 W. Washington St.
“The investigation continues into who the second person was,” Madison said.
Police are seeking a man described as about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing between 210 and 240 pounds.
At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing sunglasses and a bandanna, the victim told police.
An unidentified man told police he opened the door to a rented room to Schleve, who was known to him, after she knocked at about 3:45 a.m.
When he opened the door, a man armed with a handgun — and who he didn’t know — pushed his way in, demanding money and valuables, he told police.
Schleve and the unidentified man collected about $2,000 in property and left the room, police said. No one was hurt.
