Woman hurt in wreck off state Highway 112 west of Port Angeles

JOYCE — A woman living off state Highway 112 was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center on Friday after the truck she was driving rolled onto its side on Place Road earlier that morning.

Jacqueline Hodges, 47, was driving on Place Road near the intersection with Highway 112 at about 8 a.m. when the 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck she was driving lost traction and flipped onto its side, Clallam County Undersheriff Ron Peregrin said.

“She went to accelerate slightly, was not driving erratically, and the vehicle lost traction and went onto its side,” Peregrin said.

Paramedics from Clallam County Fire District No. 2 blocked Place Road temporarily while Hodges and three dogs were extricated from the pickup truck, said Sam Phillips, Fire District No. 2 chief.

Hodges had been discharged from OMC in Port Angeles by noon, hospital spokeswoman Bobby Beeman said.

The three dogs were not injured, Phillips said, and were picked up by a family member.

He said the driver lived in the immediate area.
