AGNEW — A driver from The Dalles in Oregon had been transferred from Olympic Medical Center to another hospital as of Saturday afternoon after a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 101 near Barr Road on Friday.
Nancy Adams, 56, originally was taken to OMC after the 2:30 p.m. wreck but later was moved to another hospital offering a higher level of care, said the nursing supervisor.
The supervisor did not know to which hospital Adams had been transferred.
A Port Angeles man was expected to be discharged from OMC on Saturday after his minivan collided head-on with Adams’ Subaru Impreza about 5 miles east of Port Angeles.
Morgan T. Janisse, 25, was driving a 1995 gray Plymouth Voyage eastbound on U.S. Highway 101 with his 1-year-old daughter when he suffered a seizure and crossed the centerline of the road, according to the State Patrol.
The child was not hurt.
The collision shut down both lanes of 101 for about 15 minutes.
Later, westbound traffic was diverted to Old Olympic Highway via Kitchen-Dick Road, while eastbound traffic was allowed through the scene of the wreck with periodic stops, said Patrick Young, public information officer for Clallam County Fire District No. 3.
The wreck was cleared by about 4:40 p.m. Friday, Young added.
Sequim police and Clallam County sheriff’s deputies also assisted at the wreck.
