Wintry weather prompts cancellations across North Olympic Peninsula

The recent wintry weather has prompted a variety of events and meetings on the North Olympic Peninsula to be canceled or postponed. Below is a list of events impacted by the weather as of Monday evening.

PORT ANGELES

PABA meeting

PORT ANGELES — Today’s regularly scheduled Port Angeles Business Association meeting has been canceled.

The meeting, which was to be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Joshua’s Restaurant, 113 DelGuzzi Drive, will be rescheduled, according to a notice Monday.

Because of the President’s Day holiday Monday, Feb. 18, the Tuesday, Feb. 19 meeting has also been canceled.

PABA is scheduled to meet next Feb. 26.

Committee meeting

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Behavioral Health Advisory Committee (formerly Chemical Dependency/Mental Health) meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to the weather.

Supper and show

PORT ANGELES — The “Supper and a Show” program originally set for 6 p.m. Wednesday has been canceled because of the recent snow storms.

The Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church show was scheduled to play the animated 2003 documentary “Unlocking the Mystery of Life” and the 2018 short film “The Extraordinary Design of DNA” while attendees enjoyed a provided dinner.

SEQUIM

WOW forum

SEQUIM — The WOW! Working on Wellness forum scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday has been canceled.

The forum was set to be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., but the church is closed because of the recent snowstorms.

The church parking lot is not scheduled to be plowed until Thursday, according to a notice issued Monday.

The forum, presented by Dr. Michael McBride, was to discuss the toxic effects of loneliness.

Grange dinner

SEQUIM — The Sequim Prairie Grange Spaghetti Dinner set for Friday has been rescheduled due to weather conditions.

The dinner will now be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 15.

The cost is $10 per person at the grange, 292 Macleay Road.

Soups On

SEQUIM — The Soup’s On meal Wednesday at noon at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., has been canceled for the week, according to a notice Monday.

PORT TOWNSEND

Appreciation party

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Main Street Programs’ Volunteer Appreciation Party originally set for Wednesday has been rescheduled.

The event will now take place Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Tin Brick, 232 Taylor St.

Songwriter Showcase

PORT TOWNSEND — The Northwind Arts Center Songwriter Showcase concert originally scheduled for Friday has been postponed due to the weather, according to a Monday notice.

The center at 701 Water St. hopes to announce a rescheduled date soon for the show that was to feature Kate Power and Steve Einhorn.

AMANDA PARK

Public meeting

AMANDA PARK — A public meeting on the Upper Quinault River Sustainable Floodplain Management Project originally scheduled for today at the Lake Quinault School has been postponed.

Options for rescheduling the meeting in mid-March are being reviewed, according to a Monday notice.
