SEQUIM — Those interested in dressing up a bit for the next downtown Sequim Art Walk are invited to a workshop at the Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St., this Saturday.
The workshop for all ages will be all about making wings — of nylon, glitter, sequins and other sparkly objects — to wear during the June 7 First Friday Art Walk. The fee is $2 to cover supplies.
Saturday afternoon
The walk’s organizer, artist and teacher Renne Brock-Richmond, will facilitate the workshop from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Then next Friday, June 7, galleries, cafes and shops around downtown Sequim will stay open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for art shows and public receptions with local artists.
Each art walk has a color theme, and for June, Brock-Richmond chose white — as in June weddings.
Besides, she said, white represents all colors of the spectrum, thus giving art walkers freedom to choose their favorite hues.
Participants in Saturday’s workshop are asked to bring two pairs of knee-high nylons in any color, Brock-Richmond added.
The rest of the wing materials, including paints, ribbons and glittery glue, will be provided.
“You can never have too much glitter,” Brock-Richmond said.
