PORT LUDLOW — More than 850 Jefferson County Public Utility District customers lost power Sunday as strong winds ripped though the region.
As of noon Sunday, Jefferson PUD reported 859 total outages, including 708 in the Port Ludlow area.
Clallam County PUD reported no significant outages Sunday.
The National Weather Service in Seattle said gusty winds were widespread Sunday as a strong spring front pushed onshore.

Maximum gusts were reported at 51 mph on the Hood Canal Bridge, 32 mph at Jefferson County International Airport near Port Townsend, 28 mph in Quilcene, 31 mph at William R. Fairchild International Airport in Port Angeles and 36 mph at Quillayute Airport near Forks.
A wind advisory was in effect for the North Olympic Peninsula lowlands through the early morning hours today.
Dry weather is forecast for the next three days before a chance of rain returns Thursday, the National Weather Service said.
