LAKE CRESCENT — A force of about 50 volunteers has uncovered a fountain of history at Clallam County’s Camp David Jr.
The volunteers in the past week removed overpowering natural vegetation to reveal four rock-lined pools beneath a damaged statue at the county park grounds, a remnant of the former “Qui Si Sana” health resort.
“We didn’t even know there were pools there,” said county Volunteer Coordinator Kathe Smith, who organized the work crews.
