A team from Forks High School placed third in the state Envirothon competition held in Leavenworth last week.
The Envirothon is an “outdoor science knowledge bowl,”‘ said Don Hall, a Forks science teacher and an advisor for the team.
This year’s result is the highest placing for the school in the four years it has participated in the event, Hall said.
The competition includes questions on soils, water, forestry, wildlife and current environmental issues.
The team was made up of seniors Donald Schuch, Dave Rohde, Meghan Tuttle, Danielle Skredsvig and junior Anne Tuttle. Junior Chelsea McGee was the alternate.
