Four people were injured early Sunday when the quad-runner motorcycles they were riding near Forks tumbled over an embankment, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department reported.
A fifth person was hurt while trying to get help.
Two of the injured were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries, sheriff’s Capt. Ron Cameron said in a statement.
Names of the victims were not available. All of the injured were believed to be from Forks, Cameron said.
Deputies responded to Sitkum-Sol Duc Road, just north of Forks about 1:50 a.m. They found four people injured when two quad-runners apparently went over an embankment.
A fifth person was hurt while driving for help and losing control of an off-road vehicle.
All involved in the crashes were transported to Forks Community Hospital. Those seriously injured were then taken by ambulance to Port Angeles, then airlifted to Seattle, the report states.
Though alcohol was found at the scene of the crash, it is unknown if it contributed to the crash, the report states.
The investigation into the crash was expected to continue today, Cameron said.
