FORKS — A 39-year-old man will be arraigned Friday for vehicular homicide in the death of his 60-year-old wife.
Franklin Jay Bolduc of Forks appeared Monday before Clallam County Superior Court Judge George Wood in Port Angeles, who set bail at $100,000 cash.
This is not the first time Bolduc faced a vehicular homicide charge.
Bolduc was previously convicted in a 1989 crash three miles east of Montesano that killed 22-year-old Robert W. Russell of Elma, according to Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department Chief Criminal Deputy Matt Organ.
On Sunday, Bolduc was arrested in the death of his wife, Nellie Anna (Wright) Bolduc, after a one-vehicle crash last Friday about four miles east of Forks.
According to court records, Bolduc told sheriff’s deputies that his wife had been driving at the time of the crash, but an investigator determined Bolduc was the driver.
A check of Bolduc’s license showed his license had been suspended, a sheriff’s report said.
If convicted, Bolduc could face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a $50,000 fine, Clallam County Chief Criminal Prosecuting Attorney Richard L. Suryan said.
Case files from the 1989 accident were not available Monday, and it is unknown if alcohol or substance abuse played a role in either death.
Blood-test results were still pending Monday from Friday’s crash, authorities said.
