For the third consecutive year, employees of Family Planning of Clallam County are collecting gifts to distribute to children on the Hoh Reservation and in the surrounding area.
The Westward Hoh Christmas gift drive hopes to collect presents for 60 children in need on or near the reservation.
“Every child needs a gift for Christmas,” said Chandra “Sandy” Huston, Family Planning’s executive director.
“For many people in the area it can be a struggle for basic needs, so there is very little left over for extras such as Christmas presents.”
Employees of the agency often travel to the remote western Jefferson County reservation to educate residents about health care issues.
