PORT ANGELES — The Grinch might pay a visit, along with Clement Clarke Moore’s St. Nicholas.
This Saturday, the final market day before Christmas, will feature children’s stories read aloud, plus free hot apple cider and blankets courtesy of the Port Angeles Farmers Market.
This is the third annual holiday story event at the market at The Gateway pavilion, Front and Lincoln streets, and this time, Sharah Truett is the reader.
Truett, who won the Story People of Clallam County’s Liars’ Contest last June, will read holiday tales at 11 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m. There’s no charge to listen.
Truett, a farmers market board member, is also a farm hand at Johnston Farms east of Port Angeles, an Olympic National Park ranger and a baker at Sequim’s Alder Wood Bistro.
Classic Christmas tales
She said she’ll choose some classic Christmas stories, possibly Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Moore’s “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” which begins: “’Twas the night before Christmas.”
