WEEKEND: Squirm with laughter at ‘Bed Bugs’ comedy in Port Angeles

NOTE: “Today” and “tonight” refer to Friday, Aug. 23.

PORT ANGELES — “Bed Bugs,” a comedy by Leah Genuario, takes the stage at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave., today and Saturday.

The YMCA Drama Camp — with a cadre of Port Angeles High School alumni — are presenting the play about a girl named Marie, a bed bug named Peter and their discoveries about each other. Curtain times are 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. today and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is free to the public.

The cast of “Bed Bugs” is made up of teenagers and preteens, including Alissa Baker, Miko Lan, Emily Sirguy, Madelynne Jones, Charles Krause, Kelly MacIntosh-Ryan, Rose Alexander, Sammy Weinert, Amelie Atwater, Polly Price, Milo Atwater, Rosie Matlock, Jordon Trautwein, Maizie Tucker, Brianna Yacklin, Alisyn Boyd, Julian Jones, Sirreea Friant and Bobbie Lan.

Lucy Bert, Heather Mowe, Tanner Wilcox, Bethany Bond and Amanda Bond, all graduates of Port Angeles High, came to spend part of their summer break helping longtime drama coach and director Kelly Lovall with the show.
