NOTE: “Today” and “tonight” refer to Friday, Dec. 5.

SEQUIM — The free tour of fresh art, replete with refreshments, live music and a luminous color theme, returns to Sequim tonight in December’s First Friday Art Walk, the circuit of galleries, cafes and shops open later than usual.

Gold is the color this time around for the Art Walk, thanks to organizer Renne Emiko Brock-Richmond. So participants can dress or accessorize in line with the theme, which honors the hue of the sun, that orb supposedly returning come the winter solstice Dec. 21.

Here are some highlights on tonight’s walk from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.

■ An Art in the Library reception, complete with live music and snacks, is set for this evening at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Admission is free, and all are welcome at this party, which features a fresh display of local artist Bridget Baker’s abstract paintings and Seattle singer-songwriter Jasper Lepak’s folk songs and stories.

Lepak, who this spring released her seventh album, “Wide World,” will sing from 6 p.m. till 7:30 p.m.

■ The Opulent Evening art show, starring local artists Mary Beth Beuke, Jean Wyatt and Brock-Richmond, fills the Sunshine Cafe, 135 W. Washington St.

Sunshine owner Dianne Drake will host this event, with Beuke signing copies of her book, The Ultimate Guide to Sea Glass, and showing her jewelry along with Wyatt and Brock-Richmond’s original works.

■ Easy Tai Chi, a trademarked “meditation in motion,” arrives tonight at Colors of Sequim Fine Art Materials, 139 W. Washington St.

Practice leader Catherine Villara Giumini will give 15-minute demonstrations at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Also at Colors of Sequim, Victor Reventlow will play music while the North Olympic Watercolorists and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula display their art.

■ The Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., presents its Holiday Group Show and Gift Gallery of jewelry, paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, fused glass, greeting cards and other art.

■ R & T Crystals and Beads, 158 E. Bell St., features jewelry demonstrations with Paulette Hill and Gail McLain.

■ A Dropped Stitch, a yarn shop with knitting and other classes, is open in its new location at 136 Second Ave.

■ Kyra and Steve Humphrey sing and play piano jazz at Hart’s Fine Books, 161 W. Washington St.

■ The Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St., presents a show by car and motorcycle illustrator Skip Kratzer. His art will stay on display till Dec. 13 when the museum closes for the holidays.

■ The LARC, or Local Artists Resource Center gallery, 425 E. Washington St., is open tonight.

■ Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., features live music by Twisted Roots.

■ The Local Yarn Shop, 213 E. Washington St., is a new Art Walk venue.
